Students show their skills at HBCU football combine

Student-athletes made their way to Lynwood High School on April 26 and April 27 to try and see if their talents were good enough to receive potential offers to attend a university or college in the fall.

The National College Resources Foundation’s 2024 HBCU Football Combine was the place to be this past weekend if you happened to be a high school senior or a junior college transfer looking to showcase your football skills in front of more than two dozen coaches from historically black colleges and universities. Alcorn State, Tuskegee University, Southern University, Jackson State University, and Grambling State University were just some of the schools that participated in the two-day event.

Of the 225 participants that attended the combine, 70 student-athletes received offers. Photo credit: Ronald Jenkins
