Compton hosts 3rd Annual Christmas Toy Giveaway & Community Bulk Day

City celebrates the spirit of giving and participates in community cleanup efforts 

Compton, CA – On Saturday, Dec. 16, the City of Compton hosted two outstanding events that united the community in a spirit of celebration and generosity: the 3rd Annual Christmas Toy Giveaway and Community Bulk Day.

The 3rd Annual Christmas Toy Giveaway transformed the newly named Eazy Street into a hub of holiday cheer, as families and children came together to revel in the festivities and receive delightful holiday gifts. From books to electronics and fun games, children were delighted with an array of new toys. The city collected over 4000 toys for children, making it a joyous occasion for everyone involved.

“Compton has once again demonstrated its commitment to fostering joy and unity within our community,” said City of Compton Mayor Emma Sharif. “The success of the 3rd Annual Christmas Toy Giveaway showcases the generosity and spirit of our residents and partners, and I’m thrilled to witness the smiles on the faces of our children.”

Simultaneously, the Community Bulk Day proved to be a resounding success as residents participated in a community-wide cleanup event. This initiative provided an opportunity for community members to enhance the beauty of their homes, apartments, and lots by bringing small and bulky items to designated drop-off locations.

“Compton’s residents have truly shown their dedication to the well-being of our community,” expressed Councilmember Andre Spicer. “The Community Bulk Day was a powerful demonstration of what can be achieved when we all come together for a common goal.”

“Every little effort matters in our community,” said Todd Boquet, Program Coordinator for the Compton Initiative Bright Lights of Compton. “The Community Bulk Day shows that when we work together for a common goal, we can make positive changes.”

The 3rd Annual Christmas Toy Giveaway and Community Bulk Day marked significant events in Compton’s annual calendar, showcasing the city’s commitment to fostering a strong sense of community, joy, and cleanliness.
