The 12th Annual Compton Walk for a Cure draw hundreds of participants

 

The 12th Annual Compton Walk for a Cure took place at Centennial High School on Oct. 7, 2023. The event drew hundreds of participants, including Compton City Councilman Jonathan Bowers. The event featured speakers like Courtnie Brown and held breast cancer exams on the spot. The yearly event was co-founded by former Compton City Councilwoman Janna Zurita and her sister, Satra Zurita, a member of the Compton Unified School District Board. Satra Zurita is a breast cancer survivor.
