Compton High School demolition wins award

Construction of the new Compton High School is progressing on schedule, and the campus is set to open in 2025. But before the new school could be built, the old facility had to be torn down. The job was done so well, it was award-winning.

At the recent Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) SoCal 30th Anniversary Annual Awards Gala, Cumming Management Group received a Project Achievement Award in the Education: K12 Sector for the Compton High School Campus-Wide Structure and Utility Demolition Project.

Cumming Management Group served as the construction manager for the demolition phase of the project and is currently supporting Compton Unified School District with construction management services for the reconstruction of Compton High School.

CMAA is North America’s organization dedicated exclusively to the interests of professional Construction Project Management. The Southern California Chapter’s Project Achievement Award Program is for projects within the Southern California Chapter territory.
