Sheriff’s Dept. identify gunshot victim

A Black woman was the victim of gun violence on Monday, July 17. The female victim, identified as 27-year-old Alexis Walker, was shot early Monday morning, according to a statement released by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department. The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators office is looking into the matter.

According to the department’s announcement, deputies from the Century Sheriff’s Station responded to a call about a gunshot victim. Deputies reportedly responded to a call that came from the 12200 block of S. Willowbrook Ave. in Compton. When deputies arrived on the scene, the woman, described to be in age between 20-30, was suffering a gunshot wound in her upper torso.

The gunshot victim was pronounced dead on the scene by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. As of right now, no suspect has been named or remanded into custody.
