3rd Annual Compton Advocates Community Resource Fair was a blast

Compton, CA – The 3rd Annual Compton Advocates Community Resource Fair at Gonzales Park turned out to be a grand event for the city with droves of adults and children attending the nearly daylong event on Saturday, April 29. The event featured haircuts, plenty of activities for children, and a good dose of information being passed out by the numerous vendors setting up shop.

More than 70 organizations were slated to participate, including a mammogram truck and youth empowerment zone. Compton Advocates partnered with District 1 City Councilwoman Deidre Duhart and the City of Compton in order to put on the event. The resource included healthcare screenings, educational programs, employment opportunities, and access to financial planning resources.
